Cables are intelligent tools for transmitting signals. Even in the most life-threatening environments such as sub-zerotemperatures, blistering heat and in aggressive chemical settings, they are able to adjust to each and every environment. These scenarios are the typical areas of application for the construction of special cables. Here, the integration of „new materials“ is of great meaning with regard to cable resilience.
This contribution explains the current situation regarding today’s material research and application.
